Refugee Connect

About the project

RefugeeConnect is a social project brought about by the growing shortage of staff for businesses and the large untapped employment potential of AZC residents (asylum seekers’ centre).

What we do

In the challenging game of laws and regulations, RefugeeConnect connects employers and potential employees (in the procedure for a residence permit), offers advice on laws and regulations and provides support in any practical challenges that may arise.

In addition, RefugeeConnect is committed to removing all barriers that might hinder the match between employer and potential employee (in the procedure for a residence permit) through lobbying, networking and legal action.

We firmly believe that everyone should have the same rights to participate in the labour market, regardless of origin, status or nationality.

Summary

  • We advise employers on how to employ residents of the AZC who are in the procedure of obtaining a residence permit
  • We help residents of the AZC to find work by offering language training, transport and other support
  • We challenge the restrictive measures and restrictive legislations that prevent this large group of potential workers from entering the workforce through lobbying and/or legal action
